All Things Off.

It took exactly 19 months but Alex's braces are officially off! Look at that smile, folks. To be Filed Under - Projects with a Comma and a Scary Number in Front.

Yes, he has to wear a retainer, both on top and bottom, until all his permanent teeth come in but...he's done with braces. Before you celebrate completely with us, there may be a Phase 2. There often is as permanent teeth make their descent downwards. But we're done for at least the time being.

And do you know what he said after accepting his gift of balloons and sparkling apple cider? "I look like a movie star!"

Wishing you a moment where you dazzle people with your own Hollywood smile. I know it's cold but see what happens when you just smile at someone? It's catching.

Oh, he's hating the retainer...which he has to wear until the permanent teeth come in...which to him is "forever"...which in acutality, it may just be ;-D

Congratulations Alex! I remember my braces removal well, and I'm sure your mom can too! It's a great day!
Hannah will be jealous, as she has about 10 months until we get to the "projected removal date".

Enjoy!

He's miserable because this is likely only Phase 1 and he still has both top and bottom retainers to hold those teeth in place until all are accounted for. But he does dazzle us with that mega-watt smile. Tell Hannah that 10 mos will go by in No Time!

He is so cute! You are such a good mom to get balloons! Can I be your child - lol! I remember when I got my braces off - it was a very big day! Hannah should be getting her braces off in a couple of months - then Jessica will be getting hers on - oh the cycle! His program looked incredible! Tell him congratulations!

Don't worry, Julie, we're going to go through all three kids in braces. I am praying that they are phased and not overlapping. Alex will need a Phase 2 most likely. But for now, he's thrilled.

Oh and before you give me too much credit - the balloons were a gift from the ortho. Not me. Yeah, can't take credit for that one.
