All Things New.

First...
It was Kata's *FIFTH* birthday yesterday...I can't believe that our oldest daughter is *5*!!! Yikes, it was just yesterday that she was in my arms in that hospital bed while we rocked to Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve...and I knew that my New Year's celebrations were never going to be the same again....I think it's great that she picked her own date (even tho' the c-section was scheduled for a week later)...and that it's a day the whole world celebrates with her...Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
The day started of with the Birthday Princess requesting an IHOP breakfast...which her royal servants willingly provided for her...

Later in the day, we tortured Kata by making her sit through dinner with her presents piled high in front of her...while Ken made her favorite meal...mac and cheese...from the box...because it tastes way better than when I make it from scratch....
And then the Present Unwrapping process began...a lovely Hannah Montana outfit from Auntie Daphne...

Junie B. Jones books from Alex and Bella and Auntie Daphne...

High School Musical outfit from Mama and Dada...so she can display her Wildcat pride...

And...a Hannah Montana Dance game from us...complete with wig and headset...file under Things That Are Important To Kata Right Now...

and then...drum roll...a big box arrived that very day...and Kata was dying to find out what was inside...something from Maka, Baka and Djedo....
Her very own American Girl doll...
And she has glasses just like Kata...imagine that...

Bella got some of the princess figurines...they were supposed to be on the cake...but Kata only wanted Ariel...and when you are the Birthday Princess...your wish is everyones command.
And the nice lady at the Disney store, upon hearing that we had a pouty brother...gave us some pirate stuff...modeled nicely by Alex and then...Ken.
Time for birthday candles...and an assist from Auntie Daphne with her handy dandy lighter...

Happy Birthday...make a wish...don't tell us!....don't tell Alex!....
It's Hannah Montana time...I told you...there was a wig...a microphone...and a dance DVD....

Second-(remember the "First"...in that opening paragraph??)

We want to wish you a very Happy New Year...remember to dance like no one's watching...sing with all your heart...and enjoy every second of the next 365 days...may the be filled with happiness, health and lots of humor!
